Picture

[edit]

For some reason when ever I click upload a picture the file path disappears and I am unable to load the picture.—Preceding unsigned comment added by DragonWR12LB (talkcontribs)

After you uploaded a file, copy the name of that file and paste it to the article. adnghiem501 00:17, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok can we get a picture of this chick please? I've uploaded 3, all deleted and I've seen two others on here. Both were deleted, now somewhere in the existance is a free use picture of Tara. --DragonWR12LB 10:07, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Inebrited

[edit]

Is it possible to change the said word of the simple word of 'drunk'. The English is more easily understood --penirisu 22:05, 16 Febrary 2006 (EST)

You could create an article here for those who find pollysyllabic words difficult (people who find big words hard).203.164.147.125 04:16, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"breast augmentation plants"? This is a new term for me.

Heritage Breakdown

[edit]

Anyone know this? We have them all listed, but it would be nice to say where each nationality comes from. Michael 03:46, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed uncited section

[edit]

Her initial appearance on the show was regarded by critics as largely bland[citation needed] with her character lacking any of the charisma of the other characters in the show as well as Reid herself. When the script called for Reid to return to the show the writers re-wrote her character as a promiscuous party girl, a tongue in cheek parody of Reid's own public personna.[citation needed]

I removed the above section since it was uncited. Feel free to cite and reintegrate it.

ManicParroT 01:01, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

this is clearly a personal attack on Ms Reid not only uncited irrelevant Fanzie79 (talk) 14:20, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Support of Chelsea F.C.

[edit]

How can this be included? It's not verifiable. The link directs to a fansite that claims to have a list of celebrities that support the club without any information or sources. An article or interview is reliable but this is not. Wikipedia can't be trusted if this is how biographies are compiled. Zuracech lordum 17:17, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where are the notes that the target links are looking for in this article? Were they removed accidentally? --Hawkian 21:56, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nipple Slip

[edit]

Ok, not that I mind, but is it really allowed to have a picture of her infamous nipple slip on this page? You know, cos thats def NSFW!!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 196.44.16.10 (talkcontribs) 06:46, July 4, 2007 (UTC)

It seems completely unprofessional of Wikipedia to me. There is no significance to the picture. It is not defining her at all, and it has no significance in her career or life. It seems to me to be nothing more than a user playing around. I'm removing it. If anyone disagrees with me, feel free to try to make a case for it. Antisthenex 20:48, 07 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, SFC BE, I checked your account's history, and pretty much all you do is keep putting this picture back up. I'm taking it down again. Make an argument for it. If you put it up again without any real point, I'm reporting your account. Sorry. Antisthenex 18:22, 08 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My objection to the nipple slip photo is not due to the "unprofessional" or NSFW-ish of it. After all Wikipedia is not censored. My objections lie in the fact that the image is almost certainly a copyright violation as I'm quite certain the true source of the photo is not the blog page SFC took it from. Unfortunately, I can't quite prove it... Tabercil 23:02, 8 July 2007 (UT

It is a very famous point in her career, however unproffesional it may seem, insignifigant or misdefining of the individuals Personality, it is still something that might be of interest to some users, wether they be perverts or not, it is pretty famous. it sounds very relevant to list it here. considering i learned about Tara reid because of the nip slip, and i came here to learn more about it.

Why isn't there anything about the nip slip? It absolutely is significant in her regard. I didn't even know her name or had even seen her before the news coverage of it, which there was plenty of. Janet Jackson has her nipple slip from her Super Bowl performance on her wiki page. They definitely don't just talk about how well she sang and dance and pretend the nip slip didn't happen by omitting it. Construct21 (talk) 02:39, 23 August 2015 (UTC)Construct21[reply]

Tara Reid-Friendly?

[edit]

At the Much Music Video Awards (where her picture is taken) during the Red Carpet event, it's shown that when VJ Hannah Simone tried to conduct a 30 second conversation, she was snubbed by Tara, who wouldn't acknowledge her existence. Should this be included in her biography?

Well, if there was considerable media attention or if she known for that attitude, sure - but if she was a snob once, no. --Soetermans (talk) 19:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is this an encyclopedia entry?

[edit]

I started removing the mere gossip, but then I realized that everything from the second paragraph up to (NOT including) the filmography was gossip. 'Searched through the history and found the "career" section that someone had removed. I put that back. I still wonder whether this article meets the standards for biographies of living persons. Tech408 (talk) 07:03, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, the entry is as vapid as Reid's acting, written in a gushing manner without much regard for any talent she allegedly might have. "Reid transitioned to movies, landing her break out role in 1998's The Big Lebowski, a cult favorite, and her first #1 box office role." Excuse me? Her first No1 box office role? She was in the film so little she was hardly worth crediting. "Tara quickly became an in demand A-list actress, as rumors bombarded tabloids of the star's hard partying lifestyle. Reid collected over 200 red carpet appearances in 2001 alone, and was commonly seen with Young Hollywood's most recognizable, including blah blah blah..." Well big deal. What a load of utter, unencyclopedic drivel. Guv2006 (talk) 22:53, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Box office

[edit]

The article previously said that My Boss's Daughter and Alone in the Dark failed to stay in theaters for more than a week. However, this is pretty much impossible for any mainstream release in the United States. Typically, theaters commit to at least two weeks for any mainstream release, after which they can cancel the booking and get rid of the movie. As seen here, Alone in the Dark played in the same number of theaters its second weekend as its first weekend, then lost over 90% of those theaters in the third weekend, and had no more box office grosses reported after that. My Boss's Daughter actually added a few theaters in its second weekend, and was still in over 1,000 theaters during its fourth weekend. The movie actually continued to report grosses through its twelfth weekend. [1] Neither of these movies would qualify as a hit, but at least they didn't get thrown out of theaters after one week. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:33, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

age discrepancy

[edit]

This page claims that she was born in one instance in 1973....and in another instance in 1975. Which one is it???

- We were classmates from Kindergarten to 4th grade, and I was born in March 1976... Monkeythumpa (talk) 04:24, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Which means ... ? BrendanologyContriB 08:02, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She was 6 or 7 years old during her time on the show Child's Play which was between the years 1982 and 1983. Which would put her age at 45-47 years old currently. Meaning she was most likely born in 1975 or 76. It all depends on which episode she was first in but since there are no episode listings available or it's subsequent cast list it's really just a educated guess.--2001:48F8:4076:E5B:2854:B950:BBE5:4AC4 (talk) 19:32, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstable Academy

[edit]

This is a reference of questionable bias. Barnstable is being listed as an Alternative School which is accurate as it is not a standard approach to education. Yet the reference link described Alternative Schools with a bias suggesting that they are for AT-Risk students only.

It is an unnecessary link that appears to be utilized so suggest students that attended Barnstable are potential drop outs, or of low intelligence.

Granted, Ms. Reid does display a less than orthodox intelligence, but in this case it appears to suggest that she only graduated after attending a drop-out prevention school. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.106.157.139 (talk) 12:33, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Middle name

[edit]

Any reliable sources for a middle name? It's been Tara Donna Reid for years, but I can't find anything from publications like People, The New York Times, US Weekly or Google Books, so I've removed it. Melonkelon (talk) 02:41, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth?

[edit]

It says November 8, 1975 in the infobox, and November 8, 1976 in the lead. Anybody know which is right? Scolaire (talk) 11:14, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The New York Times, Us Weekly, The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2016 and UPI say she was born in 1975. Can't find anything that says 1976. Melonkelon (talk) 11:33, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The year was changed in this recent IP edit. Melonkelon (talk) 11:37, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks. Scolaire (talk) 13:43, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Silent Partner (2005)

The link here leads to the 1944 movie. RavenGlamDVDCollector (talk) 17:03, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Someone please confirm this and make edit if necessary

[edit]

Someone named Tara Reade recently accused Biden of sexual misconduct. However, that numerous sources say she was employed in his Senate office in 1993, so it doesn't seem to be the same person. If I am wrong and they are the same person, please revert my edit (remove the "about" at the top of the lede) and add some discussion of the recent allegations, keeping in mind the bios of living persons policies. If I am right that they are different persons, consider whether the other Tara Reade is notable enough to have her own article. I don't know what she's accomplished in life, but her effect on the election alone may be enough. Nothing about Rosemary Woods or Monica Lewinsky is as notable as their involvement in Presidential scandals, but they're probably more notable than most Wikipedia subjects.47.139.42.162 (talk) 22:10, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not the same name. The accuser is Tara Reade. My mistake.

47.139.44.74 (talk) 03:22, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I just made the same mistake. I made a whole new section on the bottom of this page for nothing, but I agree the other one has gained more notability than most of our articles with her possible impact on the election. J390 (talk) 19:25, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How OLD is she?

[edit]

Like 50? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.146.43.1 (talk) 17:05, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

She was on the show Child's Play during it's first season in 1982 at the age of 6 or 7 according to various sources. The show started on September 20th 1982. However there are no episode listings so It's not really easy to pinpoint when exactly she was on the show so only estimates can be used. Since the show started in 1982 it's safe to assume that she is between the ages of 45 and 47. Many of the episodes that include her have been taken down and she doesn't include it in her own history so she may be attempting to obfuscate her actual age.--2001:48F8:4076:E5B:2854:B950:BBE5:4AC4 (talk) 19:26, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Guys, I'm having a hard time adding this link https://deadline.com/2022/10/ghosts-tara-reid-cast-guest-star-trevor-lefkowitz-1235152492/

to back up the references section and also adding Ms Reid to the Ghosts American TV Series page under the guest appearances at the bottom of the page.

If someone could add that please, i'd be grateful Thanks. Dansegr (talk) 22:01, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
